For a long time, I've been guilty of just grabbing a great pair of jeans once autumn arrives. So can I give up my classic staples this season and be more adventurous? How do I get on board with the latest trends? I'd love to try a slightly new look which is practical, comfortable and not too far from the old me.

This is my go-to item for colder days but when I still want to give a nod to my fashion sense. It offers a classic look when styled with a white shirt and has a relaxed fit which makes it very wearable.

The softness is wonderful and I'm living in mine since the weather turned! The pontelle style means I am keeping up with the latest trends and yet not compromising on how I feel. I have the Lime colourway but it is also available in Amethyst, perfect for the jewel tones this season.

Once you try this high quality, cable cardigan you will want it in every colour! The thickness of the knit makes it very warm for the autumn temperatures. It has a great shape which doesn’t change with wear and a semi fitted top, finishing at your waist.

It's the perfect cardi for pairing with a wide leg trouser or a smart pencil midi skirt. It skims your silhouette and flatters different body types. Creating a great casual look for grabbing a coffee with your best friends or heading out for a wintery pub lunch! I have the pecan shade but it is also available in classic navy or bright colours such as poppy or jade.

On Trend Jersey Tiered Maxi dress

Style guides are all pointing to the tiered maxi taking over this season. Making dressing well very easy; these wardrobe basics are the best options for when you need to look good with minimum effort!

Dressed up with high heels, stylish boots or down with your favourite trainers this dress can be ideal for heading off to the best places in town or just curling up on the sofa! I’m using it regularly when out and about with the children or when I'm sitting down all day working and it's perfectly comfortable for both situations.

For me, it works because I know as a dress on its own it’s stylish and yet I can adapt the look to how I feel that day. My best tips are adding a shirt underneath, a cardigan on top, a leather jacket or even a belt at the waist. The colours are stunning for this time of year, available in Rust which I have or Pale Green which is a pale sage hue. I may have to buy both!

Side Zip Pumps

Thankfully women today can get away with wearing flat shoes and comfortable trainers with any outfit from dresses to their favourite black jeans. The classic white sneaker has become part of our work wear on dress down days and not just for weekends.

This type of footwear is the best style for the school run. I'm never without them as I race off to get there on time and judging by the others mums I am not alone!

I love these new Side Zip Trainers as I can leave them laced in a classic style and looking perfectly put together, but they save me time as I just zip them up when I want to rush out of the door.

They are available in a lovely ivy green and have a cushioned footbed so they feel like slippers! The only down side is we need them in more colours!
