Back to Daycare Begins with Labels From Name Bubbles

AD: This month I’m working alongside Name Bubbles to share their fantastic name labels for children of all ages. #NameBubblesDayCare #sponsored

Do you have a little one starting daycare or maybe they are already attending and this is the week they go back?

There seems to be a never ending list of things to get done from buying, washing and ironing extra clothing, making sure they have spare tops for crafts. Checking their waterproofs still fit, to finding the right shoes and providing interesting lunch boxes! No wonder it can seem a little fraught after the holidays finish.

We like to start the New Year organized and one item we would not be without is our stick on name labels. We use them for everything and they have saved us so much time, which as we all know is something us parents are short of!

Time Savers for Parents: Name Bubbles

One job we really dislike when the babies head back to daycare is sewing in the dreaded name tags? If you have also been putting this off, read on for our tips!

We’ve been using stick on name labels for a few years now and so we are more than happy to share how we find them.

I’m not too bad at sewing, the husband is terrible. However, the amount of things that need to be labeled with your child’s name when they start daycare or have any activities is endless. So a product which will take one job off your hands is perfect.

How do they work?

Name Bubbles offer stick-on or iron-on labels. Choose between laminated clothing labels for clothing with care tags and unlaminated waterproof stick-on labels for tagless clothing.

They are waterproof, laundry safe, dryer safe and very long lasting. I can’t make this point enough. They really stick and stay on! I didn’t really believe it was possible for them to last through the washing machine and more but they do.

We’ve used them in clothes, shoes, on snack boxes and water bottles. However, the ones I’ve found the most useful are the ones for baby bottles.

These are write-on Baby Bottle Labels so you can send your little one off to daycare and know they will have their milk without any mixups. This has been a big plus point for us as our eldest was premature and it was so important to know he got the correct milk and quantity.

These baby bottle labels are also erasable, and reusable. They come in three sizes and are dishwasher-safe, freezer-safe, and microwave-safe. You can tell they were created by a mom!

Happy Kids, Happy Parents!

Obviously the best thing is when your children love the product too. Mine like to choose their designs now as they are very colorful and fully customizable.

Different aspects you can choose:

  • Background: The color, patterned or plain.

  • A motif next to the name such as a sport, animal, flower, star.

  • A first name or both first and surname.

  • Name font and color.

  • Add a phone number.

As you can see they take away a lot of the hard work and worry for us parents.

Especially for those last minute moments where you realize you didn’t label the Easter bonnet/ Sports Day/ Harvest Festival special outfit! We’ve all had those days! So I can’t recommend these labels enough.

We all know that a permanent marker is not so permanent when it comes to regular changes of clothes, and that these important items such as a child's bag, extra socks, a favourite toy and spare clothes all need to be labelled properly using label makers. It's a great idea to consider creating a packing list when it comes to your child's first day of daycare or your baby's first day to ensure that you have everything the child care provider needs. Your daycare center might require a sun hat, crib sheet, water bottle, enough bottles, an extra change of clothes, ice pack, burp cloths or even wellies for the rainy days. So it's worth contacting your daycare program in advance to ensure good housekeeping when it comes to the strict rules they have in place. We all know how many bathroom accidents can occur on a daily basis and having a good supply of extra plastic pants could make the difference in this big change in your child's life. You'll also quickly become the child's teacher favourite parent when you follow the childcare centres specific rules. Be mindful to consider whether your child has any food allergies so that you can pack a lunch box accordingly, and if you're little one is using their own formula or your breast milk you might want to consider a spare sippy cup or extra bottle should there be any spillages.

What else to pack for Day Care

When packing for daycare, it's important to ensure that your child has everything they need to be comfortable, safe, and well-cared for during their time at daycare. Here are some essential items to consider packing:

1. Diapers or Pull-Ups: Pack an ample supply of diapers or pull-ups, depending on your child's needs. Ensure that you also include wipes and any diaper cream or ointment your child may require.

2. Extra Clothing: Pack several changes of clothes, including shirts, pants, socks, and underwear, depending on your child's age and needs. Accidents and spills can happen, so it's good to have spare clothing available.

3. Comfort Items: If your child has a favorite blanket, stuffed animal, or pacifier, include them in their daycare bag to provide comfort and a sense of security.

4. Bottles and Formula: If your child is still on formula, provide pre-measured portions of formula in individual containers or bottles. Include enough bottles for the duration of their time at daycare.

5. Snacks and Meals: If the daycare allows, pack nutritious snacks and meals for your child. Consider easy-to-eat finger foods, pre-cut fruits, sandwiches, or other age-appropriate options.

6. Water Bottle: Provide a labeled water bottle for your child to stay hydrated throughout the day.

7. Medications: If your child requires any medications, provide them along with clear instructions to the daycare staff. Ensure that all medications are labeled properly and in their original packaging.

8. Sunscreen and Hat: If your child will be spending time outdoors, provide sunscreen with appropriate SPF and a hat to protect them from the sun.

9. Comfortable Shoes: Pack a pair of comfortable, closed-toe shoes for your child to wear during outdoor play or physical activities.

10. Important Documents: Include any necessary paperwork, such as emergency contact information, medical forms, or authorization forms, as required by the daycare.

11. Communication Items: Provide a notebook or communication log for the daycare staff to document your child's activities, meals, and any important information. This can facilitate communication between you and the daycare staff.

Label all your child's belongings with their name to avoid mix-ups. It's also helpful to check with the daycare beforehand to see if they have any specific requirements or additional items they recommend bringing. Regularly replenish your child's daycare bag with fresh supplies to ensure they have everything they need for their time at daycare.

This is why we use Name Bubbles. Name Bubbles is a brand that specializes in personalized name labels and stickers. These labels are often used for labeling personal belongings, such as clothing, water bottles, lunchboxes, backpacks, and other items that are commonly brought to daycare, school, or any other settings where belongings may need to be identified. Name Bubbles offers a wide range of customizable labels in different sizes, shapes, and designs, allowing you to add your child's name or initials to help prevent loss or mix-ups. These labels are durable, waterproof, dishwasher-safe, and laundry-safe, ensuring that they stay in place and withstand daily wear and tear. By using Name Bubbles, you can easily and stylishly label your child's belongings, making it easier to keep track of their items and minimize the chance of them getting lost or misplaced.

Anxiety about Day Care

It's normal for parents to have concerns or worries about daycare, especially if it's their first time sending their child to daycare. Here are some common worries and suggestions for addressing them:

1. Safety: One of the top concerns for parents is the safety of their child. Research and choose a daycare center that has proper safety protocols in place, such as secure entrances, supervised outdoor play areas, and staff trained in CPR and first aid. Ask about their safety measures and policies regarding illness, emergencies, and transportation.

2. Communication: Communication between parents and daycare staff is essential. Discuss with the daycare center how they keep parents informed about their child's daily activities, meals, naps, and any important updates or concerns. Regular communication, either through daily reports, emails, or a communication app, can help alleviate worries and keep you informed about your child's well-being.

3. Trusting the Caregivers: It can be challenging to entrust your child's care to someone else. Take the time to meet and get to know the daycare staff. Ask about their qualifications, experience, and the caregiver-to-child ratio. Trust your instincts and choose a daycare where you feel comfortable and confident in the staff's ability to care for your child.

4. Transition and Separation Anxiety: Many children experience separation anxiety when starting daycare. Talk to the daycare staff about their strategies for helping children with the transition. Plan a gradual introduction by visiting the daycare together with your child before their official start date. Provide comfort items from home, such as a favorite blanket or stuffed animal, to help ease their anxiety.

5. Illness and Hygiene: Daycare settings can expose children to more germs and illnesses. Inquire about the daycare's policies regarding illness, hygiene practices, and sanitization routines. Ensure that the daycare follows proper handwashing protocols, sanitizes toys and surfaces regularly, and has clear guidelines for when children should stay home due to illness.

6. Child's Happiness and Well-being: It's natural to worry about your child's happiness and overall well-being in a daycare environment. Ask the daycare about their daily routines, educational activities, and opportunities for socialization and play. Visit the daycare during operating hours to observe the interactions between caregivers and children and assess if the environment feels nurturing and engaging.

7. Continuity of Care: If you're concerned about consistency and continuity in your child's care, ask about staff turnover rates and how the daycare ensures consistency in caregiving. Inquire about the primary caregiver approach, where one caregiver is assigned to your child to establish a strong bond and provide consistent care.

Remember, open communication, trust, and finding the right daycare center can help alleviate worries. Stay involved in your child's daycare experience by attending parent-teacher meetings, participating in events, and maintaining an ongoing dialogue with the daycare staff. Regularly check in with your child about their daycare experiences and address any concerns or issues promptly.
