Redefine your definition of being tidy and lower your standards a bit

Each one of us has a certain standard about what cleanliness is about and what it means to be tidy. Just rethink your notions and redefine your ideas about a tidy home. Be more tolerant and accepting towards the mess in your house and your children.

Set boundaries and time for the play and time

Being tolerant need not mean that you have to put up with all that mess and disorderliness in your home. Just let the kids be and allow them to freak out the way they want. What you can do is assign them a  bigger room where they can play the whole day and create whatever mess they want. Let them throw around their toys, play with blocks, and whatever games they like playing. You can spread cheap carpets in the room to make it bright, colorful, and safe.

Declutter once a day and involve the kids.

It is a good idea to deal with the clutter and mess at the end of the day. When the kids have finished playing, just pick all the mess. It is best to involve the children and ask for their help and work up together. Doing so will not only teach them the importance of being tidy but also lower the stress and burden of cleaning up the room.

Keep kid-accessible baskets and racks in the room

If you want to involve the kids in the process of decluttering, you should ensure that they can do so independently. So, place baskets and racks in the room that they can easily reach. Place hooks, stands, and shelves that are kid-height and buy large baskets where they can place all their toys and blocks. Teach them to place the books, colors, and other toys on the bookshelf.

Set up a simple and easy-to-follow system and routine

Keep your cleaning systems simple and easy to follow as kids do not like anything complicated that they find difficult to understand. While you would like to place different blocks and games in different boxes and bins, you will not find much success in that direction. So, create systems that can be followed by you and your kids and can quickly declutter the room.

As you can conclude from the above discussion, you need to get more tolerant and feel relaxed about a certain level of clutter and mess in the house. Just focus more on the laughter and happiness in your house because of the kids. Remember that kids grow up very fast, and you will have all the time to live up to your cleanliness standards.
