If you have a great team and want to show you care, what is the best way to get the message across? Sometimes it's hard to know what will resonate with your colleagues. Often a regular incentive programme just doesn't hit the spot!

After the hard work we've all put in over the last two years, it's lovely to be able to show your appreciation to your staff members. Firstly because we should take care of our employees, they are extremely valuable, and secondly because an important factor in employee motivation is seeing a manager go that extra mile.

How a business leader acts and the company culture is a huge part of job satisfaction for all of us. Thinking about effective ways to show you notice them and care is a great way to build trust and happiness in the workplace but it actually improves employee engagement authentically.

New ideas are required in this area, no one needs more team building days! Things which really benefit the individual on a personal level, with no obvious benefit to the company should be best practice. These could be gift cards, simple incentives or feel-good thoughtful gifts.

This is why when we were approached to review a Wellbox gift we jumped at the chance.

Why do we need Wellbeing gifts?

After the past two years changing the world of work, we all need to start considering our colleagues' mental health - and our own. The personal connection we had with each other has got slightly lost and isn't revived by a traditional rewards programme.

Good leaders notice when their team need a little pick me up and when something has been tailored for them as an individual. Which is where the Wellbox range of wellbeing boxes comes in. They are designed to remind your employees to take time out to look after themselves and get some much needed rest from the work environment.

So what are Wellbox gifts?

Wellbox gifts are a beautiful range of gift boxes designed to remind your staff to prioritise their physical and mental health.

They have a selection of mindfulness and wellness box options which can be personalised to each member of your team, allowing employers to show their specific appreciation to each individual.

This considered approach shows how much attention has been given to each person, which improves employee morale, along with making sure everyone feels part of a team.

It's not always easy to make sure your direct reports are in good team spirit and enjoying meaningful work. Checking in with everyone can take time, so simple ways to show your appreciation could be to gift a team (which might create fun, friendly competition) or sending an individual a Wellbox Gift.

What's on offer?

Each box has a lovely theme based on what the products can offer the lucky recipient.

Food gifts

There are bespoke employee Gift Boxes with a food focus. These are for those teams who love gathering together and having a tea break or celebrating a good job on a project.

These boxes arrive like mini hampers. You can choose from a diverse range of drinks and goodies, such as Prosecco, tea, sweet treats and savoury snacks. They can be bought for a group or an individual.

Mental Health and Wellbeing Gifts

As many companies are making wellbeing at work a priority, there is also a selection of Mindfulness gift boxes.

These are the ideal gifts to give back some important me-time to your employee and help reflect on the positives they bring and how valued they feel. The gifts contain a range of delicious and comforting items such as candles, a Gratitude Journal, Bath salts, Gourmet sweets, Belgium Chocolate, speciality tea and much more.

Healthy Snack Boxes

Should you have a super healthy team the Healthy Boxes are the perfect way to show your staff some appreciation through nutritious snacks. They feature a selection of items such as Fruit & Nut Bars, Popcorn, Baked Crisps, Flapjacks, Nuts & Seeds, Dried Fruit, Baked Pretzels, Rice Cakes and Olives.

Alcohol and Drinks Boxes

If there's likely to be an informal office gathering or party there are also convenient Alcohol and drinks hampers! So you have every occasion catered for.

My favourite options were the Mindfulness and Thankful Gift Box. They are really a joy to open and packed with so many lovely items.

One really touching extra was that each gift box comes with a 'Thank you' letter and with each hamper purchased, Wellboxes.co.uk donate to charity. For example with food Wellbox gifts, the company make a meal donation to a homeless charity. For the mindfulness range, they make a donation to the charity MIND. This is such a great initiative and shows the type of refreshing company values we all like to be part of.

How could you use them?

So how could you use these on a regular basis with your team? This type of gift can create a significant impact on your company culture. It says a lot about the work-life balance in your working environment and is a great motivator for new hires.

These could be used as effective methods for working towards a common goal in the office. Having 'employee of the month' gifts, or recognising a team player. Remote employees who may feel more isolated can be recognised by shipping them a little surprise.

They could even become part of a wider incentive program where you can set goals, and then offer a Wellbox as a gift for the employees’ motivation. This in turn has a positive effect on the team and individual employees giving them a sense of accomplishment. It's always nice to have something to work towards and know that you will be recognised for it.

Lastly, if you know someone in your team who worked hard or extra hours to get a particular project up and running, a Wellbox is a lovely way to make your employee feel noticed and that their efforts are acknowledged.

I really enjoyed receiving my Wellbox, I couldn't believe how much was included in the gift and each item was very carefully chosen. It's wonderful that these are now on offer to show your employees how much you care about their wellbeing and happiness.
