Travel In Style With A Minimalist Travel Capsule Wardrobe This Autumn

What To Put In Your Minimalist Travel Capsule Wardrobe This Autumn

Packing for any holiday can be a challenge, with a wardrobe filled with so many clothes I often find myself struggling to decide what I need, but after years of travelling, I have almost found the perfect formula for piecing together a capsule wardrobe. The benefits of a capsule wardrobe as huge, as you can pack a little lighter and have a selection of interchangeable and coordinated outfits and travel stress-free without the worry that you may have left something at home.

Basic Clothes

To start your capsule wardrobe, you will need a few basics such as t-shirts, vest tops, underwear and trousers. These items are the staple of any outfit so an essential item when packing! It’s best to stay within a colour pallet and the plainer these items are, the better, as you will have more variety when you piece outfits together.

Accessories

To elevate your outfit or to add a finishing touch, accessories like tanzanite earrings can take your look from day to night. Consider packing a few versatile pieces that go well with your clothing. Whether it's a minimal necklace or statement earrings, this precious stone can make you stand out even with your minimalist travel wardrobe. Plus, they don't take up much space, so you don't have to worry about weight restrictions!

Shoes

Shoes can be an issue if you are travelling with minimal baggage, even the smallest pair of high heels can take up more room than you would ever expect and footwear such as boots can be extremely heavy. To get around this the solution is to take fewer shoes or be packing savvy. If you plan on taking boots or heavy shoes, wear these to travel in as there is no weight restriction on the outfit you travel, and if you have room in your hand luggage you could fit a pair of trainers or slip-ons in there!

Waterproofs

Autumn brings a beautiful change in nature, but it also brings a lot of cold wet weather so If you are expecting rain during your travels a waterproof layer is essential. There are plenty of fold away ponchos on the market so you will have plenty of choice, but as this is for your capsule wardrobe, make sure the colour is coordinated, keeping you looking good, and helping you make the most of your trip.

Electricals

Most hotels and accommodations will have things like an iron and a hairdryer, but you will have to provide your own curlers and hair straighteners which can be an issue with limited packing space, as again these can be quite bulky and heavy. If you are travelling with friends you have a great opportunity to split the weight between multiple suitcases, or if you have space in your hand luggage you could fit them in there, but you will have to unpack these during security checks.

Sweatpants & Hoodie

Sweatpants are great for relaxing in comfort as well as for wearing when travelling due to the forgiving nature of the materials. A comfortable loungewear outfit is a must to help you relax after a long day exploring and taking in the sights and culture. If you want to add your own touches to your holiday wardrobe, a personalised hoodie is a great way to show off your unique creations. Banana Moon Clothing is a great option, they are a one-stop shop for all the custom clothing you could need.

Knitwear

Staying warm can be a challenge in autumn but keeping yourself wrapped up in knitwear will soon see off the cold. When choosing what knitwear to pack, consider what outfits you already have, and what will stay coordinated. Knitwear can be both casual and smart so if you are hitting clubs and restaurants you can be warm and stylish!

Now that you have everything all set, pack everything in an expandable travel backpack or carry-on luggage. You’re sure to have a hassle-free trip or vacation when you know you have prepared everything you need.
