How to Rejuvenate and Repair Your Skin

There are a limited number of underlying triggers which could contribute to skin problems. The most obvious of these could simply be genetics which, can not necessarily be corrected, but can, in fact, be aided by skincare treatments. Then, there are the environmental elements such as the conditions in which one lives like air quality, hygiene, allergies or diet.

Firstly prioritise looking after yourself. It’s easy to be busy and accidently bruise when you’re rushing to work or home with children. Don’t let these knocks and scrapes go unnoticed. Keep some arnica cream on hand or in your bag for bruises amd soreness.

Then look at the basics, something so trivial not changing your pillowcase, drinking too much soda or touching your own face with dirty hands could be the culprit for skin issues like acne, rashes or irritations. Even unknowingly using low-end facial products, or washing your face with contaminated water on a regular basis might be the very source of one’s skin problems.

So, what do you do when you want to rejuvenate and repair your skin? You can begin by making lifestyle changes, and considering the standard methods used for treating skin. Below, we will identify certain contributors to which could be affecting your skin, and ways to address them.

Genetics

As we’ve mentioned above, there is nothing that can be done to alter one's genetics, however, there are skin care treatments which can combat troubled, unhealthy skin. There are highly invasive treatments such as skin graphing surgery, or something much less involved like daily masks or Jetpeel facial procedures which are designed to cleanse and strip-away toxins and replace them with essential vitamins and nutrients. The best measure to take when your family has a history of bad skin is to visit a skin clinic or a dermatologist who can advise you of the best treatment for your skin type.

Air Quality

Breathing in harsh chemicals or bad air daily can create an adverse reaction in your skin. If you have issues with your skin, and work or live in an environment where you are exposed to impurities for long periods, then the answer to your problems might have been staring you in the face the entire time. These days, quitting isn't an option, but wearing a breathing mask to filter the air, buying an air purifier or applying a skin protectant such as petroleum jelly may be the most helpful armour against combatting those elements.

Another less-likely known factor could be mould or mildew. If you live in an old home or apartment that feels humid or holds a lot of moisture, then there is possibly a fungus or bacteria presence you may not be aware of. Bleach kills mould and bacteria on-site, so addressing that source is a simple solution. However, if there is black mould, or if your mildew problem has completely taken over your living space, you may want to consider more drastic measures, as this is a slow but dangerous risk to your health. Its symptoms start out as a bad skin reaction and evolve over time.

Hygiene

This isn't to suggest that you are improperly caring for yourself, but to identify ways in which you may not be aware that could adversely affect your skin. If your skin problems are specific to a certain area of your body, pay strict attention to the conditions in which that particular area of the skin is exposed. You could have bed bugs, or your laundry detergent could be the reason. Using cheap products are a common cause of skin issues. It may smell good, or it’s within your budget, but know that cheap products are cheap for a reason.

Diet

How much fried, oily foods, and soda are you consuming? Or other products with high fructose corn syrup? Toxins in these are absorbed and over time they will reveal themselves through your skin. A change of diet and proper skincare can very likely correct skin problems.

Allergies

If your skin has changed recently, after starting a new medication or trying new food, then you may have an allergy to certain components. A way to determine if you are allergic to something like food, or a certain product would be to log your activity on a calendar daily. Start by limiting your use for a week or two, and note any positive or negative changes in your skin. Once you establish the allergy, you can either eliminate the product or consult your physician about allergy medication.

Follow these steps, to help get you started with repairing your skin. We hope you learned something that can help you on your path to rejuvenated skin. Even if you don't have serious issues with your skin, but wish to improve it, then combine any of these solutions with one or more sessions of microdermabrasion or skin peel treatments, and you will reveal a newer, glowing version of yourself that your family and friends will notice.
